 Historical Note

As of 2018, Pi Mu Epsilon is a national, coed mathematics honorary fraternity, founded in 1914 at Syracuse University. The Ohio Alpha chapter at Ohio State University was established in 1919. The purpose of the society is to promote mathematics and recognize achievement in mathematics. Members include undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and anyone who has demonstrated distinction in mathematics. The Ohio Alpha chapter at Ohio State University was active until at least 1989, and was listed as a current chapter of the national organization as of 2018.
