 Historical Note

The Mershon Honorary Military Society (variously referred to as the Mershon Military Honorary Society or Mershon Honorary) was a student organization at Ohio State University. It was founded in early 1955 and existed until at least 1971. This society was one of two subgroups of the Mershon Military Society, which was named in honor of Colonel Ralph D. Mershon, alumnus and benefactor of Ohio State University; the other subgroup was the Mershon Musketeers. Members of the Mershon Honorary Military Society were selected from the Army ROTC advanced cadets based on academic scholarship, military leadership, and campus leadership. As of 2018, this society is not an active student organization at Ohio State University.
