 Biographical Note

Marlene Owens Rankin (1939-), whose father was Jesse Owens, was a student at Ohio State University from 1957 until 1961. Stuart Rankin (1936-), Marlene's husband, was a student at Ohio State University from 1956 to 1961. Marlene and Stuart met in college in 1957. After graduating, both Marlene and Stuart had various volunteer roles with the alumni association and the President's Advisory Committee.

 Scope and Contents

The Marlene Owens Rankin and Stuart Rankin Oral History Transcript and Compact Disc Recording contains a transcript and compact disc recording of an oral history interview with Marlene Ownes Rankin and Stuart Rankin conducted by Tamar Chute on July 2, 2013. In the interview, the Rankins discuss their time as undergraduates at Ohio State University in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
