Louis Heldman (b. 1949) was a student at the Ohio State University who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 1972. As a student, he wrote for The Lantern, and was involved in student government.
Steven Hirsch (b. 1949) graduated from the Ohio State University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. Later, he returned to the Ohio State University for medical school, graduating in 1982. While an undergraduate, Hirsch was involved in the Freshman Senate, and continued to be involved in student government throughout his undergraduate years, for part of the time as the executive assistant to the student body president. He was also in Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, Bucket and Dipper, and coordinator of the Peace Commencement Fund.
David Williams graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in social studies education in 1969, a Master of Arts in 1970, and a Ph.D. in 1973. While an undergraduate, Williams was involved in the student government, eventually becoming the Director of Academic Affairs for student government. He also started the Ohio State University chapter of the Campus Americans for Democratic Action in 1968.
The Lou Heldman, Steven Hirsch, and David Williams Oral History Compact Disc Recording and Transcript contains a recording and transcript of an oral history of the three men conducted by Tamar Chute on June 28, 2010. In this oral history, the men discuss their views of the student riots in May 1970, their student government experiences, and interactions with University administrators during the riots.
