            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Edward Martin Bloom (born circa 1870) was a student at Ohio State University from 1890 until 1893, when he graduated with his Bachelor of Science. Bloom was a member of the Ohio Zeta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, and was an editor of the 1892 Makio. He died of consumption in 1894.</p>

            <p>The 
                <emph render="italic">Quantitative Determination of Lead in Ores</emph> Theses by Edward Martin contains a handwritten copy of Edward Martin Bloom's undergraduate thesis, 
                <emph render="italic">Quantitative Determination of Lead in Ores</emph>. This thesis discusses different ways of measuring the amount of lead in rocks, and deals with metallurgical engineering.</p>
