Julianna Cochran Rogers (March 24, 1941-October 17, 2000) was a speech pathology master's student at Ohio State University from 1968 until 1973. She had suffered from polio as a child, and had been a paraplegic since 1955. The first student to attend Ohio State University in a wheelchair, Cochran was a strong advocate for her fellow disabled students on campus, leading campaigns to make campus more accessible. At the 1972 Senior Banquet, she challenged the senior class to raise funds for this purpose; ultimately the class raised $300,000 through donations and grants. Following graduation, Cochran worked as a speech and language pathologist and instructor at the Ohio State University Hospitals for 23 years.
