This collection contains two scrapbooks which include news clippings covering the 1940 and 1941 Ohio State University football seasons, and one binder/scrapbook which includes correspondence from Howard Bevis and Paul Brown recommending Hershberger for war service despite a serious football injury. They also contain news clippings, photographs and other memorabilia chronicling the football team and associated activities. Also included are two hand-written football play diagram notebooks, a football practice admission card, an admission record and transcript related to Hershberger's master's degree, and a graduation invitation from the U.S Army's Air Corps Advanced Flying School.
