After serving as the Hospitals' CEO, Fraley served as chief of staff for the Ohio Hospital Association until his retirement in 2012.</abstract>

            <head>[Biographical/Historical] Note</head>
            <p>Born in Tiffin, Ohio, in 1945, Ralph Reed Fraley graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, then spent five years serving in the military. Then, he attended Ohio State to pursue a graduate degree in Health Administration, a new degree program at the time. After completing graduate school, he worked at Ohio State for roughly four years, then served in several hospital administration roles in Virginia and Dallas. Fraley returned to OSU in 1989, where he served as CEO of OSU Hospitals until 2004. He ended his career as chief of staff of the Ohio Hospital Association and retired in 2012.</p>

            <p>The Charlene Gilbert Oral History Transcript and Compact Disc Recording, dated September 2, 2016, contains a transcript and audio recording on compact disc of an oral history interview of Ralph Reed Fraley. In it, Fraley discusses his tenure as CEO of OSU Hospitals from 1989 to 2004. He also describes his educational background, his service in the military and his tenure as chief of staff of the Ohio Hospital Association.</p>
