 Biographical Note

William Harry Hall (1944-2005) was the Vice President of Student Affairs at Ohio State University. Hall began his career at Ohio State University in 1977, where he served as the Director of Administration and Operations of Residence and Dining Halls. From 1978-1994, he was the Director of the Residence and Dining Halls. He served as the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs from 1994 until he was named Vice President in 2001. Hall initiated many resources to students at Ohio State living on and off campus, like promoting revisions to the Student Code of Conduct, the construction of the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC), and the planning of the Ohio Union. The William H. Hall Student Residential Complex was named in his honor. Hall also served in the Ohio Army National Guard, and retired in 1998 with the rank of Brigadier General after 30 years of military service.

 Scope and Contents

The William H. Hall Papers contain a recording on VHS videocassette of a University memorial service held in Hall's honor, memorabilia, and files related to Hall's tenure as Vice President of Student Affairs at Ohio State University and his military career, dating from 1969 to 2005.
