Joseph Andrew Park (October 7, 1893-April 19, 1952) served as the first Dean of Men at the Ohio State University from 1929 until his death in 1952. From 1942 until 1943, he also served as the president of the National Association of Deans and Advisers of Men. Then, in 1949, Park was elected the president of the National Conference on College Fraternities and Societies. In 1951, Park was awarded a medal from the National Interfraternity Conference for his “distinguished service to youth.” Park urged and initiated the construction of the Stadium Dormitories for students with low-income attending Ohio State. The dormitory Park-Stradley Hall on Ohio State’s campus is named in his honor.
