Raymond S. Bugno (March 25, 1921-January 5, 2016) worked for the Ohio State University for his entire career. Bugno began his long career at the University as a summer laborer at the Horticulture Department Vegetable Garden. He was hired in 1939 by Fred Jones in Stores and Receiving, his first fulltime job at Ohio State University, doing clerical work. Bugno was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Force in 1942, where he served in the Pacific Theater of War. Following World War II, Bugno took advantage of the G.I. Bill, and enrolled at Ohio State University, where he returned to his job in Stores and Receiving. Bugno studied in the College of Commerce, and graduated in 1949.

His professional career at Ohio State University began in 1949, after he already had a decade of service credit with the university between his prior jobs and time in the U.S. Air Force. Bugno worked for the Ohio State University Research Foundation (OSURF) for 38 years, and retired in 1987 with 48 total years of service to the university. He received the Distinguished Service Award in 1988.
