 Biographical Note

John Thomas Bonner (July 3, 1921-) was the Executive Dean of Student Relations at Ohio State University from 1961 until 1968. Bonner served as a lecturer and instructor in the Department of Business Organization teaching courses on real estate until 1955; he also taught in the Speech Department. In 1968, Bonner became the Vice President for Education Services. During his tenure, Bonner was appointed to serve the Army Advisory Panel on ROTC Affairs, where he oversaw all ROTC programs at Ohio State in 1974. He also was closely involved in planning and building Lincoln and Morrill Towers, and in the construction of West Campus.

 Scope and Contents

The John T. Bonner Oral History Transcript and Audiocassette Recording contain a transcript of an interview of John T. Bonner conducted on July 25, 2001 by Robert McCormick. In this interview, Bonner discusses his time at the Ohio State University as both student, faculty, and administration, as well as his reactions to various sporting and social events that occurred during his time at the university.
