Frederick Stecker (1912-1999) was the assistant dean of men at Ohio State University from 1936 until 1940. Stecker was also the principle planner for the Original Ohio Union at Ohio State University, which opened its doors in 1951. He was also the director of the Enarson Hall Ohio Union from 1947 until 1951. From 1955 until 1956, Stecker was the special assistant to the president under the service of Howard Landis Bevis. He was then appointed to executive director for University Relations from 1957 until 1959, while also being a member of the President’s Cabinet under the service of Novice Gail Fawcett. Stecker became the vice chairman and coordinator for the Ohio State Centennial Program in 1969 until 1971. Stecker’s final role at Ohio State University was executive director for University Relations Emeritus in 1971. Stecker received the Distinguished Service Award from Ohio State University in 1973 for the multiple years of service he provided for the university.
