 Biographical Note

Dr. Steven Gabbe served as CEO of Ohio State's Wexner Medical Center from 2008 until he retired in 2014. He supervised the construction of the new James Cancer Hospital and the installation of the Epic electronic health record system. He was a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology. As of 2021, Gabbe is involved in Moms2Be, a program that works to reduce infant mortality in at-risk communities.

 Scope and Contents

The Steven Gabbe Oral History, dated August 31, 2020, contains a transcript and audio recording on compact disc of an oral history interview of Steven Gabbe by Chris Ellison. In it, Gabbe discusses his medical career, which culminated in his role as CEO of Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center.
