Meek became the Associate Director of Sponsored Programs for the Ohio State University Research Foundation in 1986; in 1991, she was appointed the Dean of the Ohio State University at Lima campus, the position from which she retired in 2003. The Violet I. Meek Oral History Transcript and Compact Disc Recording, dated July 9, 2020, contains a transcript and audio recording on compact disc of an oral history interview of Violet I. Meek. In it, Meek discusses her time at the Ohio State University, first as the Associate Director of Sponsored Programs for the Ohio State University Research Foundation, and later as the Dean of the Ohio State University at Lima.</abstract>

            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>In 1986, Dr. Violet I. Meek became the Associate Director of Sponsored Programs for the Ohio State University Research Foundation. During that time, she was asked for serve as interim dean of Ohio State University at Lima. In 1991, she was appointed Dean of the Lima campus; she retired from the position in 2003. During her tenure at Lima, Meek worked to increase the number of four-year programs on that campus, advocated for Ohio State’s mission as a land-grant university and pushed for more resources to be allocated to regional campuses.</p>
