 Biographical Note

Dr. Walter R. Hobbs, Sr. (1884-1947) graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1914; following this, he began working for the College as a house surgeon and assistant professor. He was appointed secretary of the college in 1929, and promoted to full professorship in 1932. From 1945 to 1946, Hobbs was Acting Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine while a search was underway for the Dean of the College. He was a member of the Omega Tau Sigma veterinary fraternity, and Phi Zeta, the veterinary honor fraternity.

 Scope and Contents

The Walter R. Hobbs Papers contains a photograph album, photographs, and a certificate from his time as dean of the Veterinary College at The Ohio State University; materials date circa 1920, 1945-circa 1946.
