            <abstract id="ref17" label="Abstract">Felicismia Serafica was an Associate Professor of Psychology and Pediatrics at Ohio State University and later became a full Professor in the Department of Psychology. She was also the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Women and Minorities from 1982 and 1984 and helped lead the affirmative action effort at Ohio State University. The Felicisima Serafica Oral History Transcript and Compact Disc Recording contains a transcript and recording on compact disc of an oral history interview conducted with Felicisma Serafica on November 12, 2104.</abstract>

            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Felicismia Serafica was an Associate Professor of Psychology and Pediatrics at Ohio State University and later became a full Professor in the Department of Psychology. She was also the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Women and Minorities from 1982 and 1984 and helped lead the affirmative action effort at Ohio State University. Serafica gathered data on the percentages of women and minorities at the Columbus campus and her findings provided a rational for a resolution that pushed for an increase in the proportion of women and minority faculty members. She also helped implement the Affirmative Action Grants and the Distinguished Affirmative Action Awards Program at Ohio State University.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>The Felicisima Serafica Oral History Transcript and Compact Disc Recording contains a transcript and recording on compact disc of an oral history interview conducted with Felicisma Serafica by Deborah Ballam on November 12, 2104. The interview was conducted as part of the Voices of Women Project, in conjunction with Ohio State University's The Women's Place. In the interview, Serafica discusses her time at Ohio State University, first in a joint appointment in the Department of Psychology and the Department of Pediatrics, then in a full appointment in Ohio State’s Developmental Psychology program. She also discusses her role as an advocate for the rights of Asian-American students, and her involvement in making the campus environment a more welcoming place for women and minority groups.</p>
