            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>As of 2017, Ellen Mosley-Thompson is a Professor of Geography and the Director of the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center. Mosley-Thompson began her career at Ohio State University in 1979, when she joined the staff as a research assistant at the Institute of Polar Studies, later called the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center. She received her Masters (1975) and PhD (1979) in Geography (Climatology) from Ohio State University. In 2009, Mosley-Thompson became the Director of the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>The Ellen Mosley-Thompson Oral History Transcript and Compact Disc Recording contains the a transcript and recording of an oral history interview with Ellen Mosley-Thompson conducted on June 20, 2014. The interview was conducted as part of the Voices of Women Project, in conjunction with Ohio State University's The Women's Place. In her interview, Mosley-Thompson discusses her career at Ohio State University and the trajectory of her career from research assistant to full professor to her current position as director of the Byrd Center. Mosley-Thompson also discusses gender issues, both in the science field and specifically at OSU, and how these have changed over time.</p>
