 Biographical Note

Joan Huber (1925-) was named dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Ohio State University in 1983. In 1986 she became the coordinating dean of the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences. In 1992 she was appointed interim Provost of Academic Affairs, where she served for a year before retiring.

 Scope and Contents

The Joan Huber Oral History Transcript and Compact Disc Recording contains a printed transcript and audio recordings on compact disc of an oral history interview with Joan Huber conducted by Susan Hartman on October 24, 2013. Professor Huber discusses her early life and education, becoming an active feminist, working at the University of Illinois where she served as the first director of Women’s Studies, and finishing her career at Ohio State University as the Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and interim Provost.
