            <p>Michael William Curran (1935-2006) was a professor in the Department of History at Ohio State University. He served in various administrative positions, including as dean of the University School, Director of the Center for Slavic and East European Studies, and Director of the Office of Study Abroad.</p>

            <head>Scope and Contents</head>
            <p>The Michael Curran Oral History Transcript and Audiocassette Recordings contains an oral history interview transcript and audiocassettes of Michael Curran conducted by William J. Studer on October 30, 2003. Curran discusses his work as a professor of Slavic and East European history, with an emphasis on Russia, his position as both Associate and Acting Dean of Humanities, from 1975 to 1983, his time as a Dean of University College from 1986 to 1990, and his position as Director of the Office of Study Abroad. Curran discusses his involvement, along with Leon Twarog, in the creation and development of Ohio State's Center for Slavic and European Studies.</p>
