 Biographical Note

Wayne E. Carlson obtained both his masters and doctoral degrees at Ohio State University in 1975 and 1981. In 1988, he joined the faculty as an assistant professor in the Computer Information Science Department and replaced Chuck Csuri as the Chair of the Department of Industrial, Interior, and Visual Communication Design in 1991. Carlson's research interest was the development of computer graphics. He was a member of an interdisciplinary team, the Computer Graphics Research Group, that was among the national leaders in the development of the arts and sciences of computer graphics.

 Scope and Contents

The Wayne Carlson Oral History Transcript and DVD Recording contains an oral history transcript and DVD of an interview with Wayne Carlson conducted by Robert Butche on June 19, 2003. Carlson is interviewed about various professor and employees at Ohio State University who carried out research in computer graphics. This DVD part five of five in a series produced about Carles Csuri and the history of computer graphics at Ohio State University.
