 Biographical Note

Arthur Eugene Adams (1917-2007) was a professor of Russian and East European history and Dean of the College of Humanities at Ohio State University. He also served as Associate Provost, Vice Provost for Continuing Education, and Special Assistant to the President for Research and Graduate Studies.

 Scope and Contents

The Arthur E. Adams Oral History Transcript and Audiocassette Recordings contain a transcript and audiocassettes of an oral history interview with Arthur Adams conducted by Jean Girves on February 27, 2003. Interview topics include the formation of a Black Studies Department at Ohio State University and the administration and governance of the university during Adams' time as a dean, a provost, and a special assistant.
