 Biographical Note

James Osborn Fuller (1912-2001) was a professor of geology at Ohio State University. He was appointed dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in 1957 and acting dean of the College of the Arts in 1975. He also served as director of Part-Time Education and Evening Programs and Special Assistant to the President.

 Scope and Contents

The James Osborn Fuller Oral History Transcripts and Audiocassette Recordings contain four oral history interview transcripts with Fuller, the first conducted by Robert Sutton on November 17, 1983. The second, third, and fourth interviews were conducted by Paul Underwood on April 22, June 20, and December 9, 1985. The collection contains five original and five duplicate audiocassette tapes of the interviews. Topics discussed in the interviews include Fuller's career, his research in geology, and his administrative work at Ohio State, including organizational changes within the College of Arts and Sciences.
