Biographical Note
Lynn Wilbur St. John (1876-1950) was a professor of physical education and athletics at Ohio State University. He served as the head basketball coach from 1911 to 1919. In 1913 he was appointed Athletic Director and in 1915 he was also made Director of Physical Education.

Scope and Contents
This series contains a sterling silver tea set (teapot, creamer, sugar bowl and tray) given to St. John for 25 years of service to OSU. The inscription in the middle of the tray reads: "To 'Saint' from his friends in recognition of 25 years of distinguished service at the Ohio State University, January 27, 1937."
