 Historical Note

The Committee on Institutional Cooperation was established in 1958, and renamed the Big Ten Academic Alliance (or BTAA) in 2016. It is an academic cooperation organization that was created to serve as the Big Ten’s academic equivalent, and is governed by the university provosts of the fourteen different universities aligned with Big Ten Conference. BTAA remains active as of 2018.

 Scope and Contents

The Committee on Institutional Cooperation Records contain annual reports, reports of the CIC Conference Group on Ocean Studies, and research abstracts from the Summer Research Opportunities Program. Materials are dated 1969-1990.
