 Historical Note

The Faculty Club is a private social club and building at the Ohio State University. The Faculty Club was established at Ohio State University in 1915 by 360 charter members. The club's original location was in the Administration Building, now known as Bricker Hall. In 1938, funding for a separate faculty club building was approved, and the club moved into the building in 1939, where it remains as of 2018. The building features a restaurant known as “The Club.” From the 1940s through the late 1970s, an informal group of faculty calling themselves the Anvil and Bellows Club met at the Faculty club to exchange views from different parts of the university.

 Scope and Contents

The Ohio State University Faculty Club Records contain financial statements, correspondence and minutes, as well we transcripts of meetings of the Anvil and Bellows Club dated 1985-1987. The collection also contains a bulletin printed circa 1925.
