The Ad Hoc Committee on the University Calendar was appointed in 1962 to examine the existing University Calendar making recommendations. The Ohio State University, Ad Hoc Committee on the University Calendar Records contain analysis studies published by other universities about academic calendars, opinions on the calendar from individual entities on campus, and reports of progress and final recommendations from the committee to retain the quarter but allow year round instruction.

Historical Note
The Ad Hoc Committee on the University Calendar was appointed by Ohio State University President Novice Fawcett on March 28, 1962 and "assigned the responsibility of examining the existing University Calendar, analyzing numerous previous studies, and making recommendations on this subject." Their final report concluded that the four quarter system currently in place should be retained but modified to allow year round instruction.

The Ohio State University, Ad Hoc Committee on the University Calendar Records contain analysis studies published by other universities about academic calendars, correspondence and reports from individual Ohio State University colleges and schools stating opinions on the calendar, and reports of progress and final recommendations from the committee on the modification of Ohio State University's academic calendar.
