 Historical Note

The Ohio State University Committee on Portraits and Memorials was formed as early as 1951 to address requests to install portraits and other memorial plaques and rooms on campus. In 1967 the committee undertook an inventory of paintings and other fine art objects owned by the University and stored in disparate places on campus.

The Ohio State University, Committee on Portraits and Memorials Records contain correspondence, notes, reports, clippings, publications, and templates and drawings of proposed memorials.
