The Archives Advisory Committee was formed in 1966 at the charge of Ohio State University president Novice Fawcett. The committee's purpose was to discuss locations and specifications of an archives facility, funding and staffing the archives, the development of retention and disposition schedules for administrative units of the university, the status of archives at branch campuses, records management training on campus, future archival preservation projects, and the University's Centennial program. The committee issued its final report in January 1971.
The Ohio State University, Archives Advisory Committee Records contain reports, minutes, publications and other documents pertaining to the charge of the committee to discuss records retention and physically establish and expand the archives on the campus.
