The Committee of Twenty-Six was established by the vote of the Faculty Council in June of 1970, to make recommendations by the start of the Autumn Quarter concerning "decentralized counseling, advising, and enrolling students in the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences." The committee consisted of six deans on the Coordinating Council, two faculty, and two students from each of the five colleges.
The Ohio State University, Committee of Twenty-Six Records contain correspondence, memos, meeting agendas and minutes, plans, rules and reports, including a final report to President Novice G. Fawcett. It also contains some records pertaining to the University Senate drafting committee.
