The Ohio State University Historical Dance Ensemble was founded in 1975 by Department of Dance Professor Angelika Gerbes, who served as its director until it ceased performing in 1985. The Ensemble provided student members with the experience of performing historical dance styles primarily from the Renaissance, and the group performed its repertoire of dances, reconstructed from period sources, for local and regional audiences in a variety of settings.
