 Historical Note

University Theatre was a mid-20th century dramatic organization at Ohio State University. It actively produced and performed plays and musicals on campus, competing with different dramatic societies at Ohio State University, such as Browning Dramatic Society, Strollers Dramatic Society, and Scarlet Mask. The plays performed by University Theatre were commonly held in Derby Hall. University Theatre began its first season of regular productions in 1946, with sponsorship from the Department of Speech. The organization disbanded in 1976.
