 Historical Note

Ohio State University's Office of Affirmative Action was created in the fall of 1970 for the purpose of ensuring equal employment opportunities on campus and to promote equality in university programs. The Office guarded against violation of the University's non-discrimination policy and handled discrimination complaints. The University's Committee on Affirmative Action was charged with creating Affirmative Action Plans to implement and strengthen policies.
