 Historical Note

The Ohio State University, Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic was founded as the Speech and Hearing Clinic in 1930. The clinic administered speech and hearing tests to all students upon entrance to the Ohio State University, and offered diagnostic and therapeutic services to students when necessary. After the creation of the Department of Communication in 1936, the Speech and Hearing Clinic fell under its supervision. The main activity of the clinic was to train undergraduate and graduate students in a clinical setting. At some point between 1969 and 1988, supervision of the clinic was shifted to the Department of Communication, then to the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences. In 1988, the name of the Speech and Hearing Clinic was changed to the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic; it is still active under this name as of 2021.

The Ohio State University, Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic Publications date from 2001 and 2007, and consist of brochures and newsletters published by the clinic.
