 Historical Note

In 1903, Ohio State University established a Department of Cooperative Experimentation, later known as Agriculture Extension, at its Agricultural Experiment Station. In 1914, under the Smith Lever Act, cooperative extension services and agricultural experiment stations were created at land grant universities and county offices throughout the United States, linking federal funding to the already existing Experiment Station and Extension at Ohio State University.

 Scope and Contents

The Ohio State University, Cooperative Extension Service Project Reports contain annual reports and Plan of Work Reports of county extension agents, reports of extension service projects, and other files pertaining to extension service work. It also contains reports concerning the Project Excel program, including 28 film strips with assorted agricultural titles and accompanying reports.
