            <head>Historical Note</head>
            <p>In 1903 Ohio State University established a Department of Cooperative Experimentation, later known as the Agriculture Extension and then as the Cooperative Extension Service. Home economics was an educational focus of the Extension's mission. They carried out home economics programs designed to reach disadvantaged families, including the Home Economics and Family Living Program. Home economists and the home economics program of the Extension Service was overseen by the Director of Home Economics in Ohio State University's College of Agriculture and Home Economics.</p>
