The Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center created an Agricultural Science Advisory Board in 1984 to review current agricultural research programs in Ohio, identify priorities for research, strategize funding, discuss agricultural issues that could be addressed by experiment stations, and advise agricultural research administrators on planning, curriculum, and management. The board members came from national and international research organizations in industry, U.S. foundations, federal agencies and non land grant universities. The board was later extended to include agriculture research for the entire university.
The Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, Agricultural Science Advisory Board Records contain administrative files from the director's office of the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center regarding annual conferences held for the Agricultural Science Advisory Board. Files include minutes of the annual conferences, membership rosters, correspondence, conference handouts and resumes of board members. The collection dates from 1985 to 1991 but is missing material from 1988.
