In 1882, The Ohio State University established the Ohio Agricultural Experiment Station (OAES) to direct agricultural research on campus. A Board of Control was established in 1882 as the "control and general management of the Experiment Station." The director of the Station submitted budget summaries to the Board of Control for approval. In 1965, the name of the Station became the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC).
The Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center Salary Budget Books contain printed salary lists, some in spiral bindings. These lists include merit increases, leaves of absence, and change in terms of service for the employees of the Ohio Agricultural Experiment Station, later known as the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center. The budgets, dated from 1951 to 1980, include letters of transmittal signed by the director of the Station and addressed to the Board of Control.
