The Ohio State University, Meat Laboratory Records contain financial statements from 1966-1981 and price lists from 1973-1981. It also contains two publications, dated circa 1975 and 1980, regarding meat processing and tissue chemistry.</abstract>

            <head>Historical Note</head>
            <p>The Ohio State University first began teaching courses in meat production in 1917. Clifford Conklin of the Department of Animal Sciences set up the first instructional courses in what was to later become the Meat Laboratory campus service. The laboratory later developed into a complete meat processing plant that provided meat products to campus dining halls. As of 2017, the laboratory still operated on campus as the Meat Science Teaching Laboratory.</p>
