 Historical Note

The Ohio State University began offering courses in agriculture at its founding in 1870. In 1896, six colleges were formed out of the University’s schools, officially establishing a College of Agriculture and Domestic Science, later known as just the College of Agriculture. In 1958, the Board of Trustees changed the name to the College of Agriculture and Home Economics, joining the two areas of study. The college has run various international agricultural programs throughout its existence, either for research purposes or to foster the growth of agriculture professionals and institutions in other countries.

 Scope and Contents

The Ohio State University, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, Assistant Dean for International Affairs Records contain topical files on international programs, contacts, and visits from international guests managed by the College from 1954-1968.
