As of 2016, Tony Straiges is a scenic designer for stage and ballet, working on productions from across the United States. He has designed sets for ballet companies such as Pacific Northwest Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre. This collection includes ground plans, elevations, design details, scrims, legs, projections, and other drawings for theatre and dance productions, both national and international. It also includes 24 set design models for various productions. The collection dates from circa 1930, and 1974 to 2014.

Biographical Note
As of November 2016, Tony Straiges (born 1942) is a scenic designer for stage and ballet. Straiges' first Broadway production was "Timbuktu!" in 1978. He won a Tony Award for Best Scenic Design for "Sunday in the Park with George" (1984), and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Scenic Design and a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Set Design for "Into the Woods" (1987). Straiges' set design work includes regional theatres such as Center Stage in Baltimore, Arena Stage in Washington DC, Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, Cleveland Playhouse, and Alley Theatre in Texas. During the course of his career, Straiges has also designed sets for ballet companies such as Pacific Northwest Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre.

This collection includes ground plans, elevations, design details, scrims, legs, projections, and other drawings for theatre and dance productions, both national and international. It also includes 24 set design models for various productions. The collection dates from circa 1930, and 1974 to 2014.

Also included are photographs from Nancy Ferguson of Yale Drama School theatrical productions, dated circa 1930, as well as a newspaper clipping of Nancy Ferguson's obituary in the New York Times, dated 1988.
