            <head>Historical Note</head>
            <p>William Shakespeare (1564-1616) was an English playwright, poet, actor, and writer. He was born and lived in Stratford-upon-Avon before moving to London where he began acting and writing. Shakespeare wrote 38 plays, 154 sonnets, and two long narrative poem. His career spanned two decades before he returned to Stratford-upon-Avon where he died three years later. Since his death, Shakespeare has become an internationall recognized and reverred playwright, with his work still being adapted and performed in the 21st century.</p>
