The Nondas Aleah Opal Morton Christianson Collection contains photographs, correspondence, and keepsakes relating to Christianson’s childhood and ballet pursuits. Materials range in date from 1900-1929. Christianson studied ballet as a child, befriending ballet dancer Mascot Moscovina, who danced with Anna Pavlova, and even performed with Pavlova in Chicago during her 1915 tour.

Biographical Note
Nondas Aleah “Opal” Morton Christianson was born December 25, 1904. She held a close relationship with her mother, Billie Morton Christianson (née Rice), who was a vaudeville performer. Christianson and her mother gained the friendship of ballet dancer Mascot Moscovina, who toured with Anna Pavlova and encouraged Christianson to pursue ballet dancing. Christianson performed with Pavlova when she toured through Chicago in 1915.
