 Biographical Note

Michele LaRue is an actress and writer who as of 2025 tours one-woman performances that center on the later 19th and early 20th century womens' experience in the United States, including the womens suffrage movement. LaRue has also been heavily involved in the East Lynne Theater Company, a New Jersey theater company founded by her late husband Warren Kliewer in 1980.

 Scope and Contents

The Michele LaRue Papers date from 1967 to 2023, and consist of materials from both LaRue's performance career as well as her writing career. Her performance career materials consist of programs, scripts, promotional materials, editing notes, scheduling information, and audiovisual materials. LaRue's writing materials include files related to her time working for "BackStage" magazine, as well as other writing projects she was involved in.
