The Mark Winchester Collection contains programs, scripts, magazines, pamphlets, pins and buttons, and a showcarder case relating to theatre productions preformed on the West Coast. The majority of the collection focuses on productions performed in the Sacramento area from 1977-1988, but contains items from 1906, 1941, and 1977-1991. The collection also contains bibliographies of the playwrights Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee in many different languages.  Biographical Note

Mark David Winchester (1965-2013) was born in Ohio, but was raised in Sacramento, California. Winchester attended Encina High School where he participated in the theatre program and graduated in 1983. Afterwards, he attended college at California State University, Sacramento and graduated in 1988. He remained interested in theatre productions in the Sacramento and central California area, despite a brief move to Ohio to attend graduate school and earn his PhD at the Ohio State University.

 Scope and Contents

The Mark Winchester Collection contains programs, scripts, magazines, pamphlets, pins and buttons, and a showcarder case relating to theatre productions preformed on the West Coast. The majority of the collection focuses on productions performed in the Sacramento area from 1977-1988, but contains items from 1906, 1941, and 1977-1991. It also contains bibliographies of the playwrights Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee in many different languages.
