Biographical Note

As of 2018, Frank Barnhart is an assistant professor in the Communication department at Columbus State Community College. He is an actor, producer, and director as well. He was responsible for moving the National Gay and Lesbian Theatre Festival to Columbus in 2002, and he was director of the festival until 2006.

Scope and Contents

The Frank Barnhart Papers contains materials related to many Columbus-based theatre companies including Reality Theatre, Act Out Productions, Actors’ Theatre Columbus, and Gallery Players. There are also materials related to the Columbus National Gay and Lesbian Theatre Festival. Also included are clippings, reviews, scripts, and correspondence relateing to the theatres and festival. Materials are dated 1983-2012.
