She worked under the management of Augustin Daly before the creation of her own theater company. The Fanny Davenport Company Account Book contains handwritten information pertaining to the company's costs, including salaries, transportation costs, and other expenses. The book also provides the names of the towns that the company stopped at to put on theatrical productions. Material is dated 1883 to 1887.</abstract>

            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Fanny Davenport (1850-1898) was an American-English stage actress, born into a theatrical family to actors Edward Loomis (E. L.) Davenport and Fanny Elizabeth Vining in London, England. In 1856, her family emigrated to the United States and she was enrolled in several child theaterical productions in Boston, Massachusets. As an adult, she worked under the management of Augustin Daly before the creation of her own theater company. The Fanny Davenport Company was created in 1882 and toured the United States with productions including Victorien Sardou's La Tosca and Cleopatra. Davenport was often the principal actor in these productions.</p>
