The Mad River Theater Works Records, dated 1992, consist of a poster, brochure, and newsletter pertaining to the company's 1992 summer theater season.</abstract>

            <head>Historical Note</head>
            <p>Mad River Theater Works was founded in 1978 in Zanesfield, Ohio, and was originally called Little Miami Theater Works. The company visited local arts councils and schools throughout Ohio and performed original plays based on Ohio history. The company changed its name in 1988 to Mad River Theater Works. From 1988-1993, Mad River Theater Works performed in a tent near West Liberty, Ohio, during summer seasons and toured the state in the winter. After that, the company began adding tours throughout the United States to its performance calendar and performed original plays based on American history.</p>
            <p>As of 2024, Mad River Theater Works has created more than 30 original plays. Members of the company also conduct educational programs in schools and learning centers.</p>
