            <p>A diner is a type of restaurant that was traditionally long and narrow to allow roadway or railway transportation to the restaurant's site and served American style cusine. In the 1980s, there was a decline in diners as fast food chains, drive-thru options, and casual dining establishments gained popularity in the United States.</p>

                <emph render="italic">Time Worm: the magazine for misfits</emph> which included a section on diner reviews, experiences, and essays. Materials are dated 1987-1989. The content includes stories, poems, interviews, reviews, photographs, and drawings about diners in Ohio and around the United States.</p>
