Materials are dated 1918-1919 and 1956-1966.</abstract>

            <head>Biographical Note</head>
            <p>Joseph Ishill (February 11, 1888 – March 14, 1966) was a Romanian-born Jewish typesetter, printer, and bookbinder. He is most well-known for his work with The Oriole Press, which he founded in 1926 along with his wife, the writer Rose Florence Freeman. The press published works by writers Emma Goldman, Peter Kropotkin, Louis Moreau, and Havelock Ellis. He was one of the original members of the Ferrer Colony, and helped print the Colony’s magazine, The Modern School.</p>
